NordVPN: Fast, Private
Whether you're dodging ISP throttling, trying to watch The Office on UK Netflix, or just want peace of mind while working from a café’s public Wi-Fi, Nord delivers. It’s not just fast
it’s impressively fast. During testing, some of my download speeds actually improved while connected, which might sound like a glitch in the matrix but is very real (I'll break that down in a sec). Streaming 4K? Gaming online? On a video call for work? No problem — Nord keeps up without missing a beat.
interface
Its interface is clean and beginner-friendly but also hides some serious muscle for advanced users. Features like Meshnet, Threat Protection, and Onion Over VPN make it more than just a basic privacy tool — it’s a digital shield with layers.
prices
That said, while the intro deal is solid, renewal prices jump faster than a Black Friday checkout cart. Like most VPNs, the long-term pricing isn’t super wallet-friendly unless you stack deals early or commit to a multi-year plan. It’s a shame, especially since Nord is otherwise refreshingly open about how it handles your data.
Still, for anyone who wants a mix of usability, speed, and security — whether you’re a globe-trotting freelancer, a privacy purist, or just someone trying to watch geo-blocked hockey streams — NordVPN is a heavy hitter. Just keep an eye on the calendar before that renewal email shows up.
Super Simple on Any Device
One thing I really like about NordVPN is how easy it is to use, no matter what device you’re on. I’ve used it on my laptop, phone, and even a smart TV — and it’s basically the same experience every time.
You can connect up to 10 devices with one account, so if you’ve got a mix of personal and work stuff (or a family), that’s plenty.
The app layout is clean and doesn’t take much learning. Tap the map or pick a country from the list — that’s it. And if you want certain apps to skip the VPN (like your banking app), split tunneling is available on Android, Windows, and Mac. Just not on iPhone — Apple doesn’t allow it.
Tons of Servers, and They Work
NordVPN has a huge number of servers — over 5,800 in 60+ countries. Sounds like a lot, but what matters is they actually work. I’ve switched between different locations and rarely had slowdowns or disconnects.
There are also special servers if you need them — for torrenting, extra privacy, or even using the Tor network without the Tor browser. You don’t have to mess with them if you don’t want to, but they’re there.
Support That Doesn’t Make You Wait
I’ve had to reach out to Nord’s support a couple of times — once for setup help and once when I messed up a renewal. Both times I used the live chat and got help in under a minute.
They also have a help section with how-to guides if you’d rather figure it out yourself. It’s easy to follow, even if you’re not super techy.
